"Chestnut Mandibled Toucan" Original Watercolor Mixed Media Painting by Sandy Tyler

Take a walk in the lush rainforest. Smell the moist soil squish beneath your hiking boots as you enjoy the cool shade. You hear movement above and your guide draws your attention to the left, to this incredible Chestnut Mandibled Toucan. It's like something from a dream with bright rainbow colors in contrast to the green forest.

This is 1:4 of my Costa Rica series.

This 6" square painting is framed in a handmade pine frame and sealed with Tung Oil. The painting itself was created on FSC certified Aquabord with watercolor pencils, soil watercolor, and Woody pencils. It is sealed with a honey and casein fixatif, eliminating the need for glass. There were no harsh chemicals or plastics used in the creation or finishing of this artwork.

Artwork was created by me, Sandy Tyler, in Ohio using the most sustainable materials I could find. Most materials are made by artisans in the USA.
