"Bamboo Orchid" Original Watercolor and Mixed Media Painting by Sandy Tyler

Travel with me to a bungalow with a view of the ocean in Costa Rica. Imagine walking out the door one warm morning to the sound of waves crashing, parrots, and monkeys. You walk along a stone pathway then notice something bright magenta amongst the green palm trees. It's a beautiful Bamboo Orchid that dazzles in the soft light.

This is 1:4 of my Costa Rica series.

This 6" square painting is framed in a handmade pine frame and sealed with Tung Oil. The painting itself was created on FSC certified Aquabord with watercolor pencils, soil watercolor, and Woody pencils. It is sealed with a honey and casein fixatif, eliminating the need for glass. There were no harsh chemicals or plastics used in the creation or finishing of this artwork.

Artwork was created by me, Sandy Tyler, in Ohio using the most sustainable materials I could find. Most materials are made by artisans in the USA.
